German Manga illustrator Marika Herzog sent me this link via Twitter this week. Here she’s inking a page from her ongoing series entitled Grimoire. You can preview it here. The second volume is due out this summer.
FYI, she’s using Copic Multiliner SP’s (0.1 and 0.3).
A cool video of illustrators Mike Perry and Jim Stoten collaborating on an image for Dwell. Those aren’t my favorite marker in the world but then I’m not one to let the creative process get hindered by materials;-) You gotta get it done with what you have. Enjoy.
If you missed Anime Expo this past July, here is the animated promo we had playing in our booth. Illustrations from our new ink pen point-of-sale display (by yours truly) and motion graphics by Pushplay Productions. Pushplay has been helping us this past year putting together our new DVD series. They do great work.
This was sent to me via our Myspace page by one of the artists behind the film. It comes from the Baden-Wurremburg, Germany based design studio Fly with the Spaceship. Great combined use of technology and traditional media. Their website has some cool typefaces for free download and at least one of them makes some really cool electronica music. Busy guys.
UPDATE:
Artist Enormal sent me a brief note describing the video:
“There is nothing special to say about DOUBLE SESSION except that it was pure improvisation, and we were freestylin for maybe 2 hours. and then [sped up the film]….
I’m drawing in front while Chrispy Christal is in the back, kicking some styles and shapes in illustrator, thats it ”
