In case you haven’t clicked around the site for a while I’ll make it easy for you and just tell you what’s been added this week.
First off we are now distributing the new TracePad by Light Beam, Inc. It’s and ultra-thin, ultra bright light table that offers even light and no hot spots due to the fact that there are no bulbs. It’s 100% LED, which means it’s super efficient and has low energy consumption.
Next we’ve just received part 2 of the Product Design Rendering dvd series featuring a TON of great information. This dvd is over three hours long and covers techniques, materials and approaches to rendering several kinds of products and surface types.
Lastly our Papercrafting Set color charts are now up on the Sketch Sets page (scroll down). These sets are available in Copic and Ciao as well. Currently they are only up on the Sketch Sets page.
As always ask your local or online art supply retailer about getting any of these items.
If you missed Anime Expo this past July, here is the animated promo we had playing in our booth. Illustrations from our new ink pen point-of-sale display (by yours truly) and motion graphics by Pushplay Productions. Pushplay has been helping us this past year putting together our new DVD series. They do great work.
If you are in the Savannah, GA area Oct 1st-3rd please come say hi to us at the Savannah College of Art & Design’s annual Art & Material Trade Show. All materials will be sold for nice discounts. This is open to the public and a great way to stock up on supplies for school or the studio. More info from SCAD’s website here.
Illustrator Nate Williams just launched Letter Playground. A public site where anyone can upload their interpretation of letters and numbers. Looks like a great place for inspiration as well as for showing off your stuff.
This is the latest music video from French pop band Air. The animation was done by French animation studio Mathematic. This was most certainly done with cgi but the hand drawn effect is really nice. The rainbow shapes and surreal landscapes reminds me a bit of The Yellow Submarine animation. Mathematic does some amazing commercial work in Europe. They did the post work for the Quantum of Solace (James Bond) video “Another Way to Die”.
German artist Heike Weber has done some elaborate and beautiful installation work using markers on laquered, vinyl floors. Look at the artist’s cut paper work as well. Amazing.
British design studio We Are Young has a cool doodle based project going on. Submit a random fact and they will use the best one in a poster illustration each month. The simple drawings are great. Check them out Learn Something New Every Day. Check out the We Are Young site as well if you want to dig on some top notch print design.
